Don’t buy Discount designer clothes on the internet until you read this

When you buy discounted designer clothes on the internet there are a number of points you should consider

·         Is it real?

·         Will it arrive?

·         Will it fit?

·         What is the returns policy?

·         How can I be sure that all the above can happen?

Is it real?

Much of the allegedly designer clothing on the internet is sold through auction sites, experience has shown me that most of this is either counterfeit or last year’s stock. Pulling my new polo shirt on and going down to the pub with it felt great until someone grabbed the  collar, stick a hand inside looking for a particular label and declared it a fake

Will it arrive?

If it is going to be sent hal way around the world to get to you are you sure it will arrive, and when it does you will have to pay import duty on it, this can make it very expensive.

Will it fit?

Just because you are a size 8 does not mean that it will always fit, for example a UK size 8 is a US size 10. And even knowing this every maker makes a size 8 slightly differently. This brings me fairly neatly onto my next point

What is the returns policy?

Can you return it, If so, how much will it cost in shipping, once again for an individual to return an item to the far east or India can be very expensive.

How can I be sure that all the above can happen?

My advice is

·         Try the items on in a store, then you know what you want and the size that fits best, then go online and find it cheaper

·         Only buy from your country or a country that is close

·         Check the returns policy

·         Buy from a reputable company, one at least one that is backed by a good supplier.

·         These days I always buy from a company showing the ‘Powered by Amazon’ logo because you know that they are not going to mess you about if it doesn’t fit
